Image Cropper

Cut any part of a photo to a chosen ratio, and rotate or mirror it along the way.

About this tool

This tool keeps the part of a photo you want and discards the rest. Drag the crop box or nudge it with the arrow keys for fine adjustments, and when you resize it with the slider the centre stays put, which makes framing a shot much easier.

The aspect ratio presets match where the image is going. Use 1:1 for profile pictures and most social thumbnails, 16:9 for YouTube thumbnails and slides, and 9:16 for Instagram and TikTok stories. 4:3 and 3:4 are ordinary photo proportions, and the free option lets you crop to any shape at all.

Rotation and horizontal flip are handled here too. Turn a phone photo that came out sideways in 90-degree steps, or flip a selfie back the right way round. The save button shows the output size in pixels, so you can check you are getting the resolution you need before you commit. Formats a browser cannot open — an iPhone HEIC, for instance — will not load, so convert those to JPG or PNG first.
