ID Photo Cropper
Crop a photo to passport or ID sizes in millimetres at the resolution you pick.
About this tool
ID photo requirements are written in millimetres for print, but the file on your computer is measured in pixels. This tool takes the format and the resolution you choose, works out the pixel size that satisfies both, and crops to it. A 35×45mm passport photo at 300dpi, for example, comes to 413×531 pixels.
The presets cover passport and half-business-card size, a standard Korean ID photo, a US visa photo and a business-card size. Choose 300dpi for anything that will be printed; for an online submission, match whatever pixel size the authority asks for. Drag the photo to position the face and use the zoom to scale it.
What the tool guarantees is the outer dimensions of the image. Passport photos also have separate rules about head height and the margin above the crown, and the background colour, expression and whether glasses are allowed differ from one authority to the next. Always check the guidance from wherever you are submitting. The photo is processed only in your browser and is never uploaded.
